Insight - promoting innovation through knowledge sharing

A regular forum with speakers talking from the government digital services team

In a fast-paced environment of strategic digital service delivery, it is important that time is reserved for teams to reflect, share knowledge, outside of the usual cyclical ceremonials. That’s why we have introduced ’Insight’ - a regular forum designed to spark discussion, encourage collaboration, and break down silos.

The start of Insight

Following a period of recent organisational change, the team recognised the need for a more collaborative environment where open communication prevails and thrives, and people can share ideas easily, often.

This realisation led to the creation of Insight, a 30-40 minute session held regularly where team members can share knowledge, and discuss wider industry trends.

A platform for diverse topics

Insight has quickly become a hub for a wide range of discussions, including:

  • Future-proofing content design across our services
  • Agile training methodologies
  • Rolling out lean design methodologies
  • The latest accessibility initiatives
  • GitHub best practices
  • Voice of the Customer analytics

These sessions have not only highlighted the team’s diverse talents but also emphasised their role in improving user interaction with government services.

Breaking down silos

One of the primary goals of Insight is to address knowledge gaps across our portfolio. By providing a platform for team members to share their expertise, the forum has successfully broken down product silos and fostered a more cohesive understanding of the team’s overall mission.

Looking ahead

The success of Insight is evident in its growing popularity, with sessions booked months in advance. As the forum continues to evolve, it’s becoming an integral part of the team’s approach to refining and improving digital services across government.
